Highlights of PTSA
September, 2006 Minutes
- Barnes and Nobel will be offering discounts to
PTA/PTSA members and Liberty Mutual Insurance will be offering 5-10%
discounts, also.
- Mary Jean Thibodeau reported that the theme for
this year’s Reflections contest is “My Favorite Place”. There are new
categories for video/film/dance choreography to hopefully draw more high
school student participation. Entries are due the beginning of
January.
- Project Graduation: Nance Panisiti and
Susan Feeney reported that a goal for this year is to get more students
involved in the planning and fundraising. An October meeting is being
scheduled to debrief last year’s Project Graduation and start planning
for 2007.
- Discussion took place around rethinking the actual
graduation ceremony, and it was decided to let Kathy Earley speak to
Regina Sullivan and investigate alternative as she volunteered to do at
last month’s meeting.
- There is a PTA State
meeting to be held on November 3rd and 4th.
- Scott Prescott reported that the “Yellow Dress”
will be presented to students on October 16th. This
presentation will be to all students, and there is not a parent
component this time.
- John Smith gave a report on his recent conference
which was funded by the PTSA. He has a binder full of information and
has new ideas to keep the school safe.
- There are about 50 more stadium seats to be sold
as a fundraiser. The price is $30.00 each.
