Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy Earth Week!  Congratulations to the “Green Team” and the MVVS Student Council on starting a new tradition.  Our school grounds are looking clean and beautiful, and we all took time to think about what we can do to protect our natural resources.

Speaking of the earth, our science curriculum has been undergoing a revision and alignment with the NH state standards.  Our teachers are preparing for some content changes which will impact them next fall, and summer professional development activities in science have been scheduled.  NH piloted a science assessment test last year, and our 4^th graders will be participating in the first official year of this assessment in mid-May.  Results of the assessment are not expected until the fall but will be shared with parents at that time.

Following vacation, we will be beginning our end of year NWEA assessments for students in grades 2-6 in reading, mathematics, and language usage.  The results of those assessments will be sent home to parents with student report cards at the end of the year.

           If you aren’t going away, please stop in tonight for PTA Movie Night at 7 P.M. in the MPR.  If you are going away, have a wonderful time at your destination.  Best wishes for a fabulous vacation.
