Dear Parent or Guardian,

Our homework schedule for the week will be as follows:

Monday:                       Read for 35 minutes (Usually a reading worksheet will also need to be done.)

Tuesday:                       Math will be assigned by your child’s math teacher.

                        Wednesday:                 Assignments vary

                        Thursday:                     Assignments vary

(Homework will be written in the assignment notebook on a daily basis.  I will also be posting it on my webpage.  A letter will be forthcoming with directions for accessing my webpage.)

There is usually no homework assigned on Friday unless the children have special work to complete such as a book report, project or test.  You will be notified of any long-term projects ahead of time.

 I have asked students to bring their assignment notebooks home to be signed each night including Fridays in order to keep the routine going.  Please help them to develop this organizational strategy.  Your signature means that you have seen your child’s daily planner.  You may also use this notebook as a means to communicate with me.  Please remind your child to show me any notes that you may have included so that I am aware and can respond in a timely manner.

            Thank you for your cooperation.  I am sure that together we can make this year a very positive learning experience for your child.
