Class Jobs

   

MRS. GODIN'S PERSONAL ASSISTANTS:

l. Check agendas to see that all students have written in their assignments by 8:45 each morning.

2. Check off all parent signed notices to see they have been returned and remind students as needed.  (i.e. field trip permission slips, etc.)

3. Take the lunch count and attendance; and give to public relations officer to carry to the office each morning before 8:50.

4. Help substitute teachers to understand how our class runs.

5. Fill in for any of the officers when needed.

6. Do many assorted jobs that come up each day in addition to the above tasks.

7. Check all officers to be sure work is done on a daily basis.                     

 

SECRETARIES:

1. Log in homework completion as soon as possible.  Notify fellow student about papers that have not been turned in on time.

2. Staple papers when needed.

3. Do assorted organizational tasks.

4. Assist supple and organizational officers to keep the resources organized.

5. Organize the materials and the books that are needed for students who are absent.

6. File papers to go home.

7. Other filing as needed.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL OFFICER:

l. Turn the lights on and off.

2. Keep the coat hook area neat and orderly.

3. Help to put up/take down bulletin boards.

4. Control the CD/Tape player during work times, selecting appropriate music.

5. Remind table groups at the end of the day to put buckets up and stack chairs.

 

TECHNICIANS: 

1. Make sure that all computers are on in the morning and off before you go home.

2. Keep the computer areas neat and orderly.

3. Help students if they are stuck.

4. Remind people of their computer times-if they forget.

5. Keep printer paper full.

6. Work with the typists to keep our class web page up to date and always functioning properly.

7. Load and play the V.C.R.

8. Set up and break down the video/computer display.

9. Help out in computer lab when needed.  Check to see that all students have logged off before we leave.

10. Set up the overhead projector each day.

11. Wash all transparencies at the end of the week.

12. Photographer as needed for all class activities and special events.

 

LANGUAGE ARTS TUTORS:

1. Help keep the materials in the writing and spelling centers organized.

2. Support classmates, when they need help with their writing, by proof-reading, editing, critiquing for the six traits, etc.

3. Pass out materials as needed.

4. Keep an accurate vocabulary journal for student help.

 

MATH TUTORS:

1. Help to organize our math center. 

2. Support classmates, when they need additional help with their math, by working as one-on-one tutors.

3. Organize/set-up math center.

4. Pass out math manipulatives when needed.

5. Collect, organize and store all math manipulatives.

6. Keep accurate math journal entries for student help.

 

SUPPLY AND ORGANIZATIONAL OFFICERS:

1. Keep track of supplies-including art materials.

2. Check out supplies and collect them at the end of the day.

3. Keep supply areas neat.

                

PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICERS:

l. Welcome visitors to the class and find out what they need when I am busy.

2. Deliver any messages that need to be sent around school.

3. Class spokes person for the school newspaper.

4. Write “What’s New in Room 21” for our web site and school paper. 

5. Responsible for making sure that any new student who joins our class understands the classroom rules and procedures.

 

LUNCH OFFICERS:

1. Assign two people to clean up our lunch tables each week. (Make sure everyone gets a turn.)

2. Be sure that the clean-up is performed.

3. Note positive or negative comments given to our table.

 

LIBRARIANS:

1. Develop and implement a check out system for our class library.

2. Keep library book shelves neat and orderly.

4.  Handle all Scholastic book orders.

 

TYPISTS:

1. Type for class and classmates (You must type at least 18w.p.m.)

2. Work with technicians to keep web site up to date.
