Reading
& Language Arts
Children should be reading at home
daily for at least 20 minutes.
Guided Reading:
Children are instructed in small guided reading groups
at their instructional level.
Theme: Travel Time
In this theme, children see how people expand their
knowledge as they explore new ideas and places.
Whether they are close to home or far away, the
characters in this theme find that adventure awaits
them.
Storybook Character Week: To go along with
Storybook Character/Spirit Week we will be reading:
Monday: Clifford Books
Tuesday: Winnie The Pooh and Tigger Too Books
Wednesday: Field Day!
Thursday Peter Rabbit Books
Friday: Raggedy Ann and Andy Books
Play - We will be reading, practicing, and memorizing parts for the play Sir Bookworm - Our play is Thursday, June 12th. More information will come home this week about the play. Students should arrive at school between 7:00 and 7:15 pm. We hope to have the play start at 7:30 pm.
Word Study: No more spelling tests. We will however, be assessing the high frequency words for 2nd grade.
Writing: Journal

Math - Adding and Subtracting 3 Digit Numbers

Keep practicing the addition and subtraction facts to 20 for accuracy and speed in computation

The chicks were a
huge success! They went to a local farm this past weekend.
