Classroom Weekly Peek

Week of  June 14-21, 2010

   READING/LANGUAGE ARTS    Students should  be reading at  home everyday for at least 10 minutes.

Guided Reading: Students are instructed in small guided reading groups at their instructional level.

Theme: Responsibility- "What does it mean to be responsible?"

Story:   Sign Maker's Assistant     By: Ted Arnold

Vocabulary: afternoon, blame, idea, important, sign maker, townspeople

Skill: realism, fantasy

Phonics:   compound words

Writing: gathering ideas, adding details, descriptive writing, revision process, adjectives, adverbs, pronouns

SPELLING- No Spelling test this week.

     MATH Students should  memorize the addition and subtraction facts through 20. Daily home practice is most beneficial.
