Intramural sports are drop-in programs.  Come play when you can. No charge. Students may take the late bus home.

• Scrabble Club will begin in September. We’ll be learning the game and playing it, as well as picking up some good Scrabble strategies.  It’s free of charge and students just need to let their parents know they’ll be coming. The students can see Mrs. Field to sign up, or send an email to lfield@sprise.com. It will end at about 3. It will meet on Mondays, for 10 weeks beginning 9/24 (not on 10/22).

• Chess Club will begin in September. Anyone with an interest in playing may show up. It will meet for 10 weeks in Mr. Reid's room until 3:30. Send an email to rreid@sprise.com if you have questions.

• Math Counts: Visit www.mathcounts.org for more information. Mrs. Leknes will run this club after school on Thursdays. MATHCOUNTS^® is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory. With over 22 years experience, MATHCOUNTS is one of the most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors, and students.
  
  After several months of coaching, participating schools select students to compete individually or as part of a team in one of the more than 500 written and oral competitions held nationwide and in U.S. schools overseas. Winners at the local level proceed to state competitions, where the top 4 Mathletes® and top coach earn the right to represent their state or territory at the national level. At all levels, MATHCOUNTS challenges students' math skills, develops their self-confidence and rewards them for their achievements.
